Is It a Penis or a Clitoris or Both?
We often only equate erectile tissue with just the penis but it also exists in the clitoris. Erectile tissues are numerous vascular spaces that become engorged with blood. For females, erectile tissue can be found in the clitoris, as well as in the bulbs of the vestibule. These two tissues have the same function as the tissues in a male penis. They fill with blood to cause a clitoral erection. They also cause the vagina opening (the vulva) to swell.
The penis and the clitoris come from the same tissue
A genital tubercle or phallic tubercle is a body of tissue that develops into a penis or a clitoris at around 4 weeks and can be distinguished as a penis or a clitoris by about 9 weeks gestation. The clitoris forms from the same tissues that become the glans and upper shaft of the penis, and this shared embryonic origin. If exposed to testosterone, the genital tubercle elongates to form the penis. Without the testosterone it remains a clitoris. In the absence of testosterone, the genital tubercle allows for formation of the clitoris; the initially rapid growth of the phallus gradually slows and the clitoris is formed. The clitoris is a complex structure, and its size and sensitivity can vary. The glans (head) of the human clitoris is roughly the size and shape of a pea but can vary, and is estimated to have more than 8,000 sensory nerve endings.
This information is so important because over stimulating the head of the clitoris can become painful, irritating and is one reason why some women are not able to achieve orgasm. We can relate this to a mans penis where only the head of the penis gets stimulated, and not the shaft. Same goes for a woman's clitoris, the shaft of her clitoris is located under the skin that goes inside the vagina and is part of what is known as the G-spot. Just focusing on the head of the clitoris leaves out the shaft and legs of the clitoris when erect and filled with blood can be extremely arousing to stimulate. Using a tongue, fingers, penis, sex toy, to stimulate the shaft of the clitoris located inside the vagina can be equally arousing when the clitoris is erect, this area is about an inch inside known as the G-spot. This can be done with a slight pressing up in the area under the clitoris inside the vagina to indirectly massage the clitoral shaft. As a woman gets aroused the inner legs of the clitoris located inside the vagina will also fill with blood and become erect and be pleasurable with deeper penetration.

Married women who are unable to have orgasms with their husbands
This is a topic that is not discussed at ease; many times women just live with the fact that sex is not enjoyable.
Image by Johan31000 via FlickrThe truth is that sex is suppose to be enjoyable and if you are a woman who has not experienced an orgasm it can be extremely frustrating. The frustration can lead to not wanting to have sex or just having to get it over with. The human body especially the female body was designed by nature to enjoy sex that is why women have a clitoris. The sole function of the clitoris is for pleaser, hence orgasm. Orgasm is what brings a husband and wife closer together releasing the powerful hormone oxytocin.
Sexual frustration can come out in many ways, such as over eating, drinking, depression, moodiness, cramping during menstruation. Having orgasms can reduce stress, while making sex with your spouse an “Orgasmic Experience”. As a sex therapist and marriage counselor I am offering a 6 week course on female orgasm.

Husbands that are good lovers knows their wife’s vagina is unique to her
What man has not struck gold in his life when he can bring his wife to orgasm, he now has the golden tick or the secret love recipe.
The truth is that yes he may have found the sweet spot on his former girlfriend and brought her to orgasm but what he doesn’t know is that her vagina and its function is not going to be the same with his wife. Often times a man will use the same technique with his wife and find that he is not bringing her to orgasm and assume that something may be wrong with her when in fact he just needs to experiment a little more. The other factor that goes into the equation is that she may also thinks her husband’s knows what he is doing and many times will blame herself for not being able to orgasm.
We now have two people who love each other but are becoming frustrated with their sex lives. A woman’s vulva (vagina, clitoris, inner lips, and outer lips) is very different in each woman the way it looks and how she may get stimulated. Some women require more stimulation, some require less, some women like to have then entire vulva played with and others may like to focus on the clitoris and g-spot. Another point that is important is for a woman to also know about her own vagina and what feels good to her so that she can show her husband, and in the same token a husband has to be open to wanting to please his wife. The sole purpose if this article is to let a husband know that his wife may not be turned on in the same way that he may have turned pleased another woman on. This does not mean that he is not a good lover or that there is something wrong with his wife but to understand the fact that her vagina may be very different.
Oral sex is one of the most misunderstood areas of sexual stimulation from women to women. What may have brought one woman to orgasm screaming with pleasure; May actually over stimulate another women and cause her irritation or even pain. This is why for both a husband and wife understanding that different vaginas require different stimulation thorough communication and touching with one another will help to achieve better sex and better sexual intimacy in the marriage.
The solution to this problem is for a husband and wife to not assume that a past technique or experience is the answer to a woman’s orgasm but to take the time to know each woman’s vagina individually. The best way to get to know a woman vagina is to have her place her hand on her husband’s and show him what she likes, the pressure, the movement, the rhythm. The same goes for oral sex and intercourse, make it a game and ask questions, have fun with the experience and vaginal exploration. Take the time to get to know each other’s bodies, this may even be after 10 years of marriage because bodies also change with age and what may have worked 10 years ago no longer words now. Do change up the sex in marriage, don’t get into a routine, work on it and have fun with it that is the whole point of really having a great sexual experience with your spouse.

The story of a vagina and why it sometimes doesn’t work do we really know why?
In researching information for my new book that will hopefully come out soon, on how a husband can please his wife in more ways than one, I found the research and information on a woman’s vagina to be lacking to say the least!
In fact many of the articles that I did pull up talked about the vagina and then went right into the penis, what a shocker. So in my digging and digging and digging for information, outside of my own realm of knowledge, I did find a few articles that I felt worth the merit of sharing, but before the big presentation about a woman’s vagina, this is what I was in search of.
I was not looking for the anatomy,
but what it takes to get the vagina going,
what happens exactly to a woman’s vagina when stimulated and how exactly can a woman have an orgasm.
Not only that but how does she know she is having an orgasm and is it clitoral? G-spot? Or both? And how can her partner tell?
Let’s face it a woman’s orgasm is elusive, mysterious, and sometimes unpredictable. I can talk about orgasms all day, the clitoral orgasm, the G-spot orgasm the combined G-spot clitoral orgasm. Then there is the fact that she needs to have her mind in the “right frame of mind to have an orgasm” What I don’t know and continue to believe is that the vagina is undiscovered, uncharted territory that needs more information about it, around it and in it! There is an abundance of information on penises and there should be because the penis is located on the outside of a mans body and there is no way that it is not front and center.
A woman’s vagina is located on the inside of her body, hidden, protected, like a diamond in the rough.

With the help of ASSECT and other institutes of sexology, many women have already made a huge difference in the world today, but of course we still need more and that is going to come from your everyday woman!
Here is a quick story on my take on the vagina!
Each and every woman owes it to herself and if she is married she owes it to her husband and that is TO GET TO KNOW AND LOVE HER VAGINA! If you are a woman and you have not taken the time to know your own vagina then how are you suppose to share it with your partner?
There will be more to come on this subject but for all women out there today reading this article, pick up a mirror and look at your vagina today. That is your homework, just look at your jewel, your flower, your beautiful wonderful vagina.
The next exercise will be more fun so stay tuned!
